until 1991: membership in the national committee ICOMOS Yugoslavia, the last chair of ICOMOS/YU was the Slovenian archaeologist Dr. Iva Mikl Curk
1993: independent national committee ICOMOS Slovenia included in ICOMOS International
1994: the president of the Slovenian section becomes Jovo Grobovšek, who also becomes member of Advisory Committee of ICOMOS International
1999, 10 February: Founding Assembly of the Council on Monuments and Sites by adopting the ICOMOS/SI Statute in Ljubljana
2003: In the Conservation Doctrine Series, ICOMOS/SI publishes translations of ICOMOS international charters – Doctrine 1
2008, 21 July: new presidency is elected at an extraordinary annual members’ meeting, the new chair is Mag. Marko Stokin
2011, October: ICOMOS/SI organises a meeting of presidents and representatives of national committees of Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia, Italy, Hungary, Macedonia, Serbia, and Slovenia, where the declaration on regional cooperation in cultural heritage conservation is signed
2012, May: 1st International Symposium on Cultural Heritage and Legal Issues with the main theme International Legal Standards for the Heritage Protection in a Period of Economic Recession and Tools for Safeguarding Protection Standards at Bled. It was prepared in cooperation with the Institute for Protection of the Cultural Heritage of Slovenia and supported by the Council of Europe, Managing Diversity Division, Directorate for the Democratic Governance
2014: In the Conservation Doctrine Series, ICOMOS/SI publishes translations of ICOMOS international charters and documents – Doctrine 2
2015, September: ICOMOS Slovenia signs a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Council of Europe, Managing Diversity Division, Directorate for the Democratic Governance, to promote Council of Europe’s conventions and principles related to industrial heritage
October 2015: 2nd International Symposium on Cultural Heritage and Legal Issues with the main theme Protection and Reuse of Industrial Heritage: Dilemmas, problems, examples. The event was prepared in cooperation with the Institute for Protection of the Cultural Heritage of Slovenia and supported by the Council of Europe, Managing Diversity Division, Directorate for the Democratic Governance
2016: ICOMOS Slovenia publishes, with the financial support of the Slovenian National Commission for UNESCO and the Institute for Protection of the Cultural Heritage of Slovenia, a booklet entitled Heritage of Slovenia and UNESCO
2017, November: the president of ICOMOS Slovenia becomes Dr. Sonja Ifko
2017: Based on its active work, ICOMOS Slovenia acquires the status of a society in the public interest in culture, allowing co-financing opportunities by the Ministry of Culture
2018, September: 3nd International Symposium on Cultural Heritage and Legal Issues with the main theme Management of the Cultural Heritage Sites. The event was prepared in cooperation with the Institute for Protection of the Cultural Heritage of Slovenia. The symposium was held under the patronage of the Slovenian National Commission for UNESCO.
